Energy Market Outlook: Who moved my metrics?
The traditional metrics for managing and predicting O&G trends are so 20th century. In this presentation, we will discuss the outlook, new norms and evolving factors that are painting the landscape for our industry.

Speaker Bio
Neil Mendes has worked in the oilfield service industry with 25+ years working in the engineered materials arena. Currently Neil is the CEO of Alpine Polytech an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited Laboratory providing material and equipment performance testing and consulting services to the Energy Market. Alpine works with all fluids and environments that polymers will see in service, including H2, H2S, HF, CH4, CO2, CCUS from cryogenic to 300˚C and from vacuum to 40,000 psi.

Prior to Co-founding Alpine Polytech, Neil spent 20 years with Greene, Tweed & Company, the last 15 years in executive management. From 2009-2014, Neil was Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Greene, Tweed Company, prior to that (2001-2009), he served as General Manager/Vice President of the Oilfield Business Group.

Dr. Brendan Rodgers

New Elastomer Technologies for Oil & Gas Industry
Perhaps you have heard that there has not been any new polymer development in recent times. The next steps to polymer development are actually taking place with the advanced additives and compounding technologies. Graphene and carbon nanotubes are facilitating the step changes, otherwise not possible. If value added reliability and performance as it relates to new polymer development.

Speaker Bio
Brendan Rodgers, based in Austin Texas, has spent 42 years working in the tire and rubber industry with both The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and ExxonMobil. He has worked on a broad range of tire and industrial rubber products including hydraulic hose and conveyor belts, materials technology, and tire design. He now has a consulting company, ELL Technologies LLC,  in Austin Texas supporting the tire, chemical, oil and gas industries. Brendan has a PhD in chemical engineering from The Queen’s University of Belfast in Northern Ireland, where he studied thermodynamics, heat transfer through large rubber sections, and vulcanization kinetics. He has a Master's degree in Polymer Technology also from The Queen’s University, and a BSc in Biological Chemistry from The University of Ulster.

Polymer and Non-Metal Component Performance Evaluation - The Synergies of Testing and Simulation
While Digital Engineering does require testing to characterize physical properties, it provides opportunity to focus on the critical properties to ensure required system performance. The combination of a digital test in conjunction with a physical testing offers a tremendous advantage over only physical testing or simulation.

Speaker Bio
Alistair Gill is a mechanical engineer with a 1st Class Honors Degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He ash spent most of his 30 year career in digital simulation and the energy sector and specializes in non linear FEA. He is managing the growth of Element Digital Engineering in USA, but is still heavily involved in technical aspects and capability development. He ash been a resident of Houston, Texas since 2006 and is a licensed engineer in that state.

Eric Crawford
Lead Engineer
James Walker

Moderator bio
Eric Crawford is currently the Lead Engineer at James Walker SPS Group where he employs his knowledge in polymer structure, performance, and processing. His responsibilities include developing customer relationships, managing projects, conducting technical reviews, and ensuring material compliance with regulatory standards (such as REACH, RoHS2, Toxic Substance Control Act, Proposition 65, PFAS, and Conflict Minerals). Notably, he holds a U.S. patent for an installation tool used in the Semiconductor industry.

Eric has an impressive track record: he has served as Chair, Vice Chair, and Director of EPG, and currently chairs API SC20L. He is a sitting board member of the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston and East Houston Athletic Association. Eric is actively involved in various other organization, including ASTM, ACS, NoBCChE, ANSI, and NBSE et al.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Engineering, a Master of Science in Polymer Science, and an MBA with a focus on supply chain sustainability. Outside of work, Eric enjoys fly fishing, golf, playing basketball, and mentoring young people

What Emerges from a 6 Month ISO23936-1 Test
Does the extended 6 months of testing by ISO23936-1 actually have a benefit? Yes, we find a significant difference when testing for the extended period of time. In this presentation you will learn the different thresholds of various PEEK, Carbon Fiber Filled PEEK and Glass Fiber Filled PEEK. This presentation will also aid you in lifetime modeling.
