A bit about Kristene Kainer
What do you find most fascinating/ challenging about the O&G industry?
One of the most fascinating aspects I see within Oil and Gas is the massive influence it has on our daily lives and the world. With that being said also comes the volatile market associated with it.
What is your hobby and why?
I like to clear my mind by working out. Love traveling with my husband and beautiful 9-year-old daughter. My husband always says I am booking the next vacation before we have finished the one we are on!
Have you had a mentor in the industry and what valuable lesson / catch phrase has that person passed to you.
I have had a few mentors throughout my career I am grateful for. One of the things that has always stuck with me that my former boss said often early in my career was "You can only be as good as your team."
What do you enjoy most about your job and what advice to you have for others?
I love all of the people I get to meet from all over the world. I l enjoy when my Engineers and I sit down with a customer to collaborate and work together to ensure they are getting the best possible solution and seals for their application and tools.
How long have you been with EPG and what brings you back year after year?
I have been a member of EPG for 14 years. Within the 14 years I have only missed 2 conferences! EPG members are a great group of people. No matter what side you are in with the group everyone is always willing to teach and learn from one another.
