February 2025 - Joe Borski

A bit about Joe Borski

What do you find most fascinating/ challenging about the O&G industry?
As a manufacturer for rubber components for the oil and gas industry, the most fascinating part for the industry is seeing the industry pushing the boundaries of new technology to maximize production output. With this new technology, we are seeing new requirements that are pushing the boundaries of elastomers that we have not seen in the past. This helps gives us the ability to come up with new techniques and technology to support the new technology form the oil and gas industry.

What is your hobby and why?
I have many hobbies. I like being in the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. All these hobbies are done with my family on vacations or weekends.

Have you had a mentor in the industry and what valuable lesson / catch phrase has that person passed to you.
I do have a couple of mentors. First would be my grandfather Bernie Borski. He has taught me everything I know about designing tooling for manufacturing elastomeric products. Also, another mentor would be Andy Anderson. I have learned more about rubber since he has been on board at Eutsler. His catch phrase is "Rubber is dumb".

What do you enjoy most about your job and what advice to you have for others?
I enjoy being able to work on new projects and different engineers from many different companies. When working with different engineers, you can see the new technology that the oil and gas industry is developing. It is great to see these new projects go into production and be successful.

How long have you been with EPG and what brings you back year after year?
I have been at the EPG for 15+ years. I enjoy coming back to see what new technologies are being worked on and meeting others in the industry.
